Important Update: Program Transition Notice

We're implementing changes to our A.A.S. in Hospitality programs in our ongoing commitment to provide a more relevant curriculum to our students. As part of this transition, the Food and Beverage Management track and the Hotel and Resort Management track will be discontinued pending final approvals. Effective Fall 2024, we will no longer accept new applications or program change requests for these tracks.

We encourage you to explore our A.A.S. in Hospitality — Event and Tourism Management track, which offers similar classes to help build a successful career in the hospitality industry.

Ensure guests have a comfortable, positive experience while traveling. Hotels, resorts, spas, and casinos need managers with exceptional people skills. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects 9% growth in hotel and resort management careers by 2030. The average salary for lodging managers was $59,430 in May 2021.

A.A.S. Program Overview

This program combines specific hotel and resort courses with foundational hospitality and business courses. Learn how to manage hotels and resorts, develop hospitality marketing strategies, and oversee food and beverage operations.

The hotel and resort track has a strong emphasis on culinary arts and guest relations. This focus ensures that you're well prepared to manage the full range of tourism experiences, from lodging and accommodations to food, beverage, and entertainment.

Our work experience program provides more flexibility than traditional internships, so you can develop the expertise you need for your personal career goals while networking with employers.

Course Highlight: HOS 105 Orientation to Hospitality

Meet with over a dozen leaders in Finger Lakes hospitality and tourism in our signature first-year experience course, Orientation to Hospitality. Designed as a guest lecture series, this course introduces you to a range of professional occupations, best practices, and current developments in the industry. Discover unique careers and opportunities while learning from experienced business owners, hotel managers, and event planners.

Real-World Event Planning

Create memorable experiences with our student-run events and our collaborative capstone project, Dinner at Julia's. Each year, hospitality, culinary arts, and viticulture students work together to host food and wine events for real patrons from the local community. Discover what it takes to run a successful event from start to finish by designing menus, setting up lighting, plating food, and serving tables.

FLCC has an articulation agreement with SUNY Brockport, which ensures that our program graduates will enter Brockport's hospitality program in full junior standing.
